How to Fulfill Your New Year’s Resolution

Most of the people have a New Year’s Resolution which was written, of course, before the new year starts. If you are writing the same resolution as last year's, it means that you need to ask yourself these questions: “Was I able to fulfil my new year's resolution last year?” If yes, what made you do it? What are the reasons, the process, and your motivations? You just have to think and repeat or improve the process. If not, of course, you need to ask still… “What are the reasons?”

The reality behind unfulfilled New Year’s Resolutions is we do not take a Step by Step Process.

1. Reflect on your life. What are the things that you want to change in your life? Will these things make a better impact on your future? Are you healthy physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually? Do you have a good relationship with the people around you, or your loved ones? Are you satisfied with what you have and of what you are right now? Do you have a peaceful mind?

2. Separate the good/positive from bad/negative. In relation with the # 1, if your answers are positive, it means that your New Year’s Resolution should be about an improvement. For your negative answers, you need to make sure you will change the bad things that you have. But that requires a lot of discipline and effort.

3. Set a specific and realistic goal. For example, you are planning to lose weight this year, at least state how many pounds each month or week if you can. Also, you need to be realistic. You know you won’t be able to do that everyday so why would you write that down? General and unrealistic goals are really hard to attain though it’s easier to think of. But If you are sincere with your resolution, you will start with the details and you will start imagining how you will do it.

4. Think of a strong motivation. What are or who are the reasons why you are writing your New Year’s Resolution? What will the result be how will it change your life? Will this boost your career? Will this make your partner love you more? Will it make you famous or wealthy? Will this make you a better person? Either for yourself, or for other people, anything positive under the sun can be your motivation as long as you’re not hurting anyone.

5. Seek for God's guidance and help. Last but not the least, of all these, you should always ask God’s presence in everything you do. For sure, he will light your way to fulfill these things and will bless you even more when you do it in His name. Have a blessed New Year ahead folks! ;)
